As promised we're continuing the reboot of SVO. Today another 'milestone' has been reached. Database synchronisation has been set up which means you will be able to log in with your account (however, new accounts and password changes are synced every five minutes so please a few minutes if you cannot log in); You will be able to make a character but you will NOT be able to go ingame with it. For some reason the game has a glitch that we will fix in the end of Jan/early Feb version update.
TL;DR:
You can
- make an account / change passwords (allow 2 to 5 minutes for it to take afffect on the game server)
- make a character

Aweesome. I'm having an issue where I tried to connect to the server and put in the wrong username, and now when I hit enter or click Login, nothing happens, even with incorrect or missing information. No error messages or anything.
Edit: Nevermind, apparently the server just went down. ^^

Yeah, you crashed the server
but in the process you uncovered a database bug which we're fixing now.

Good to see Skyon back up again. If I may ask; how many people are actually developing this game right now?

Darkfrost and myself. I've talked to Oceanity (formerly known as IMD007) a few days ago on Steam and he'll be running the Saturnpedia again.
As for actual gamedev it's just DF and me but we do have a huge advantage now since Darkfrost is studying Game Development in University courses. This means features shouldn't take as long to program as before (hopefully).
I've also adjusted our goal a bit. The SVO world is indefinitely "on-hold" until we have a "nearly-Earthbound look-a-like" experience ingame. So that means equipment, battle system, storyline mechanism, ...
So for now you'll get the most out of the Earthbound world with areas up to the storyline of Threed.

Have you updated your video drivers? If you have an ATI card that might be the issue. Don't sweat though, Darkfrost had the same error last night but when he updated the SVO code with the latest engine code it worked again, so with the next release it will hopefully work for you.

Ah right, AMD stopped using the ATI name some time ago. Anyway, that might be the problem, just give it a try once the new version is released.
