Re: The new SVO Changelog
Cleaned up the Earthbound Creation Screen a bit, you can now use tab to move to the next field, also fixed the sprites showing.
Added different colors for say, private and party chats. Colors that won't hurt your eyes when you're trying to read them.
Also added highlighting in the game menu.
Made Status, Equip and Goods clickable, not much to see there yet though.

Some small things today:
Fixed a centering issue with names displayed when a GM tag is added
Made the Status window look more like the one in Earthbound.

Re: The new SVO Changelog
Added some more logic to the GUI ingame, especially when hitting the ESC key to close windows.
Added a display that shows the name of the map you're currently walking in.
Also did more more behind the scenes stuff on parent maps (for example: Onett > Arcade) that will be shown on the friend list.
Made the stats screen smaller as there was way too much empty space.

Okay mods get your shotguns out because I'm asking the question you guys at SVO all hate.
Any idea of when we get a preview of the battle system - *shot*

aPhRo told me a few days ago he had done some work on it. It entirely depends on how much work aPhRo can spend on it. It's long overdue

Re: The new SVO Changelog
Yeah, no idea when it's going to be working or at a point it's playable though. There's still a lot of stuff to add regardless of the battle system, e.g. the Earthbound stat mechanism, equipment, enemy AI that can select its attacks during battle, ...

Re: The new SVO Changelog
Was working on the enemy AI today (not the inbattle one though), currently it does this:
Enemy LV > Player LV:
enemy walks towards you when you move (like in EB)
Enemy LV < Player LV:
enemy flees from you (like in EB)
When you're not in view range of the enemy it randomly moves around, I'm wondering, do you guys want the enemies to move around like in other MMORPGs or would you like them to only move when a character nearby moves like in EB?

Re: The new SVO Changelog
Okay, for now that's how it is going to be then. So for now enemies run towards you and fight you if you're not more than 5 levels higher than them, if you are, they run away from you.
Also, to make sure enemies don't get chased around to places they don't belong, I added a small hack where the enemy will be teleported back to their respawn position after a while. Once there is a good pathfinder algorithm they will move back instead of insta teleporting.
I added a couple of Coil Snakes onto the Onett map, don't expect the stats to be balanced, also their behavior might be a bit off as I'm still polishing the AI. At least the buttonbashing to level up can begin, where is Nesslv9999 if you need him, amirite?

Re: The new SVO Changelog
I would LOVE to help test things out but I can't log in the game. ^^ I wonder...Did you guys delete the accounts when you updated it or should it still be there? I think I'm going to try out another account in game. I just used my brother's account to play and saw that there was no enemies and not much to do. Anyway,I haven't really been here because I'm not at home right now. I'll come back for good soon enough!
Edit: I am still waiting for a reply.

Re: The new SVO Changelog
Some updates:
- SVO up to date with Netgore engine updates
- ATI fix for people with ATI graphics cards who couldn't get the game to run
- Using a local database for the server, should reduce some latency
