I can't get the Game to Load

Yeah I know, this is a little newbish and all but for some reason I can't get the game to start up properly. Everytime I've tried to load the SVO Game file it tells me: Please run the updater (SVO.EXE), and not this file directly. And when I run the updater, it usually downloads everything and all... But when the actual window shows up, the game freezes up and sometimes even closes itself out... Any suggestions?

Not sure what the problem is, as it seems not everyone is having this issue.

Can you tell me what OS you're running and if you have UAC enabled, running as admin, ...

What service pack and OS are you running? I might have to do some debugging on the vista OS's in my vm as i got a feeeling its the UAC or just that OS in general.

I just found this whole thing this morning so forgive me if this problem has been solved, but this is the only thing remotely similar to my problem.
When I start up the game, it will open up after a bit and then go to a black screen while some music plays.
The very first time I tried to start it up, it went to the Saturnpedia front page in the game window that popped up, then after a minute or two, it went to the black scene. Now when I boot it up it always goes to the black screen.
I am using windows 7 and have tried running it in compatibility mode to windows XP/Vista

If there's a client.log file in the folder you installed the game to, can you open that in notepad, and copy and paste the contents of it here, please?

I can't find any .log file in any of the folders/sub-folders
the only thing similar is a log4net.dll file that I can open with notepad, if you suggest posting the contents here

First of all, please use the edit button instead of posting multiple times. Second, can you give more details on what happens? A black screen with music usually indicates that your graphics card is not supported or that your drivers are outdated. Try updating your video drivers, if you have an Intel integrated GPU it will not work until some future release.
