Hopefully more than 2 of you have knowledge of fighting games other than Smash brothers.
Here we'll talk about all things fighter.

So what are your guy's thoughts on Street Fighter x Tekken?
There's quite a lot about this game I dislike,
Gems,
Pandora,
Art Style,
SF Roster.
I do love the idea of playing Tekken characters in a 2d environment though.

Even if this is trollbait, I'll fall for it.

How do I get better with Spencer OTGs? I can never seem to get the angle and distance right. Such a shame too, I'd be even better if I could add that to my repertoire of tricks. Other notable manuevers of mine include OTG with Wesker into assist Armor Piercer. All that damage, all that mad. I do feel kind of guilty about using Wesker though.

But am I the only one that thinks matchmaking in vanilla MvC3 was crazy? I used to get matched up with crazy 5th Lord guys until I managed to make it to 9th Lord. Might just have been the time of day I was playing though.

I'm a huge fighting game fan Hobo, this is a subject I can take fully serious.

You shouldn't feel shamed for using a top tier character, unless you use them because they are top tier. I happen to like Dudley, I use him because I like his style.

Matchmaking is all capcom fighting games is stupid, in 3SO I fight people 20 ranks away from me.

But yeah, I used to play Dudley until I picked up Dan. Fairly certain I beat a semi-famous guy from /v/ once, although it was a mirror match. I really wish I felt like playing Dan exclusively for his Super Taunt.

His Ultras go through other Ultras too, even if Dan goes first. So much fun with Shisso Buraiken.

Lite mode Guiles are a blight upon SSFIV3D though. Sonic boom while walking forward SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.

Even if I did pick up SF3IIIS: FftF, I'd probably end up picking Ken anyway. I really can't play charge characters worth anything. Maybe Dudley, but he doesn't have his Target Combos... If I knew more about Yang I'd think him over too.

Unless Target Combos were just supercommon link combos.

There's plenty of characters in 3S, I'll admit the roster variety is pretty stupid though. I've grown to dislike 3S the more I play the game. With the exception of chun li, the entire top tier of the game is comprised of rushdown.

Dudley still retains a ton of his target combos, not counting jab > jab, he's got like 9.
Most of them are pretty useless though, since you could just do St. Rh > Machine gun blow > whatever from the range most of his target combos start off at.

What you're saying is that I can take a Target Combo from the move list in 4, and it'll work the same in 3?

From memory, he has a little less target combos in 3 than 4.
Most of the ones from 4 should be in 3.

Forward Mp>Mp>Hp
Mk>Hk>HP
Croucing Lk>mk>hp
etc
But Dudley is pretty different in 3, he only has like 2 or 3 worthwhile target combos, since he's more about insanely difficult to pull off juggles.

Is playing Yun even worth it in 3 if I can't Genei-Jin because of the previously mentioned microscopic input windows for cancels?

Yun with Sourai Rengeki is pretty good.
Not Godlike like he is with Genie Jin though.

There was a very brief period of time (like VERY brief) where I actually cared about the Touhou franchise, I asked this guy on the internet about the series and I searched it out, I played some of the shmups and didn't really find them to be all that unique, but I did play SWR for a little bit, not seriously though. Off Topic, but I really like MegaMari

I probably should try SWR out again sometime. Does it have online play?
