- A lot of people are experiencing the following error message:SVO.exe - Application Error wrote:The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.
To resolve this bug you need to install Microsoft's .NET framework. Unfortunately this means a minimum operating system requirement of Windows XP service pack 3.
a web installer for the correct installer can be found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992&displaylang=en
If you do not have a minimum of Windows XP SP3, hopefully in the future SVO should be cross platform and should run on Linux, a free operating system that can be installed alongside windows. Run a search for "ubuntu" if you are not familiar. - Quite a few people have run into bugs running the updater. If you are experiencing these bugs try installing Saturn Valley Online somewhere other than C:\Program Files or any other 'system' folder. Consider installing to C:\SVO. You could also try running the game as an Administrator or disable user account control.
- If you are running Windows 7, right click on the shortcut that is made on your desktop, click on properties. Then On the shortcut tab, click "Advanced..." at the bottom and check "Run as administrator..".
- Finally make sure the server is online by reading the front page and the news before posting connection issues.
- Bug posting guidelines:
- Graphics Card Information (be as informative as possible - use Device manager) example:
Device description: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
Driver version: 8.683.2.0
Driver date: 17/12/2009
Also run a quick check to see if an update to this driver fixes your issue. - Operating System information. Example:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Intel Core i5 CPU M540
4.00GB RAM - Verify that .NET framework 4 is installed. To do this go into "Uninstall or change a program" and look for "Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile"
- A screenshot is always very helpful too.

Re: Official Error topic
Was talking to someone outside Ness' house on Earthbound story, went into the house, tried to go right back out and I got this error:

Clicking abort exits the game but if I click ignore enough, I can make it go away and keep playing. I should also note that after this happened, I logged out and back in and had this character (Ryftling) also stuck in the outside border of Onett.
EDIT: The error seems to happen at random when entering/exiting buildings.

Re: Official Error topic
I'm aware of this bug. It's quite common and annoying and is a bug in the base engine. Will probably be fixed in the next revision.

Re: Official Error topic
That seems to be a problem with your Windows account user rights. Just install SVO somewhere other than C:\Program Files or any other 'system' folder. Just install it in C:\SVO\ or something and it should work. Also try running "as admin" or disable User Account Control.

Re: Official Error topic
As a note for the SVO crew, if you are playing Earthbound Online in the current state, entering the area where you would normally battle Frank will give you an error that closes the window. When you log back on, you are shunted off the map, and you cannot get through the invisible walls that are always present.

Hmm, it's not an error that pops up every single time, I was walking around there last night and didn't get any errors.

Re: Official Error topic
That's rather odd. As of now, the alpha has no events, right? I can enter buildings and travel the world, but I can't really do anything.

Re: Official Error topic
Hey!
When playing revision 4, I seem to hear a lot of noise coming out of my left speaker during the louder parts of the music. I'm not sure if this is just my sound card or what (I could always try changing my default sound card, having two in my computer), but so far it has only happened on this revision. Were there any major changes that were made regarding the sound in revision 4?
