Oh?

Congratulations, you have single-handedly admitted in this post that you have once again come here to troll. This time, however, you have apparently failed to read the original post.

You also made the misfortune of catching me on a really bad day, so feel free to complain about this "unjust" or "undeserving" punishment via Steam.

Cheers!

Hasbro modified Derpy's voice, eyes and removed the part where rainbow says her name because of some angry protest groups or whatever... I wanna throw up man this is terrible.

It is truly a shame that there are people who would actually get offended over a goofy cartoon character.

Though I really believe it had less to do with offensiveness and more to do with not being close enough to the fan-character of Derpy, which just makes this situation all the more ridiculous.

To watch, or not to watch.. That is the question. I've heard good things about this.. Is a show about ponies as good as it sounds?

Depends on how good people have said it was, I really enjoy the show and would agree to the fact that it is better than most shows nowadays. But nowadays most shows suck hard.
At the end of the day I think the show is Good maybe even Great, but not the AMAZING OMGWTF LOL GRAYTEST SHOA EVARS OMG that some make it out to be.

If those show came out in a better time for cartoons I'm sure it wouldn't be nearly as popular.

Let me put it this way: the show's original creator was the person who did a good deal of work on Powerpuff Girls, a majority of the work on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and a majority of the animation on The Iron Giant.

If you liked any of those, there's a good chance (given you go into the show with an open mind) that you will enjoy Friendship is Magic.

There is nothing saying you couldn't enjoy Friendship is Magic if you never watched or didn't enjoy said shows (FiM has a huge team backing it full of quite talented individuals, similar to the amazing team working on Adventure Time), but being a fan of Faust's work definitely helped me become a fan of Friendship is Magic.

Speaking of Rocko's Modern life:
......

I get the feeling it would disapprove of MLP

Yeah, that's why I gave it a chance too, I wouldn't have if I didn't hear of that.

Okay, I'm going to try to be as open-minded and reasonable as possible so don't attack me for this: I don't get the appeal. Can someone tell me how this phenomenon started from a troll thread on 4chan's cartoon and comics board to the show that splits the internet in half?
Ever noticed the most memes come from Pokemon, Let's name a few:
Smugleaf, Mudkip, Seaking, Gary, Shiny Pidgey. There's more, I know it.

I'm a little unsure on the story myself but I think it goes something like this.
Some guy posted an infamous article online calling the new MLP show "The End of creator Driven Media" stating that the fact that the show was being created by a lot of talented people who have done other things as a means to sell toys. Which it actually wasn't. The article was apparently so awful that some people on 4Chan actually decided to see if the show was that bad, turns out they liked the show and it's popularity spread from there.

Naturally some people don't like the show, some can't over the fact that it's My little pony, some dislike the actual quality of the show, some dislike it for it's fanbase, some dislike it for god knows why.

What's the appeal of the show?
I like it because of the humor, they throw in some references here and there (Such as the benny hills theme or ride of the valkryies). I like the characters and seeing the crazy things they can do (like fighting dragons, or whatever else). I like all the songs (With an exception or 2). I also like the animation.

That about covers it I think. Some people watch the show just for the fanbase but... I think that's quite silly.

I don't really see it as splitting the Internet, it's just caused a bunch of angry idiots to scream their heads off at one-another.

YeOldeHobo is a good example of the typical hater who refuses to give the show a chance but who is quick to call anyone who likes the show pathetic, lifeless, etc. while spending months on end doing so (which I still find delightfully ironic), while members of fimchan, /b/ and other various parts of the Internet who call themselves bronies are a good example of people who don't care at all about the show and whom just want to draw Rule 34 and write terrible fanfiction in large quantities.

I don't mind people who don't give the show a chance because of the fanbase; I understand how they feel, but the people who go out of their way to attack every fan of the show because of the fanbase without giving the show a chance come off as ignorant and pathetic.

On a brighter note, my DVD came in today!
Now I never have to worry about Edited Derpy again.

From what I've heard, this is the story of the fanbase.

/co/ finds the show
Five dudes from /co/ post about it on /b/ as an ironic joke of a raid
The ironic joke is taken seriously

And then the current state of affairs.

Aighty then. I don't expect everyone who watches the show to like it.

Was the misquotation on purpose?
